Un lanzamiento como el de IR26 THIS LAND IS NOT FOR SALE/IVERE es solo posible porque además de los talentosos y generosos músicos que contribuyen a las grabaciones tenemos amigos detrás de escena, a menudo en las sombras, quienes contribuyen tanto y muchas veces con poco tiempo de aviso a la causa. Ingenieros de sonido como Alejandra Toro Salom (Colombia); diseñadores como Dubdem (Brasil) y Tapedave (USA) o traductores como Moondub (Uruguay), Manueladub (Colombia), Olovotu (Islas Solomon) y Jahteecha (Jamaica).

Los participantes de IR son encontrados en muchos países, algunos llamados a menudo de tercer o cuarto mundo y muchas de las locaciones en donde IR trabaja tienen una extrema deficiencia tecnológica.

El video ilustra sobre la insidiosa requisa a nivel mundial de campos agrícolas, sobre todo en países en vía de desarrollo. Ya sea en México como en Etiopía grandes compañías se alían con el gobierno local, quienes les venden grandes tramos de tierra por debajo del valor del mercado para granjas comerciales. En el proceso sus propios gobiernos están expulsando a los ocupantes y granjeros originales de la tierra. Muchos son indígenas y sus derechos sobre la tierra existen allí desde antes de que hubieran gobiernos, corporaciones o el pensamiento de que la tierra pueda estar a la venta. Es tan obvio, estas corporaciones monolíticas y los gobiernos consideran al pueblo indígena “sin importancia” y por lo tanto dispensable.

Esta pista y el video que la acompaña celebran la resistencia que pelea fuerte en contra de estas injustas y desatinadas acciones. El video en sí fue creado dentro de un proceso acompañado por diferentes amigos a través del globo quienes dieron ideas cruciales al creador, Earth Ritual; esto incluye a Alberto Caballo, Tape Dave, Sistah Dub, Chefe Camomilla y The Ghost.

2 This Land Is Not For Sale [The Atenco Peoples’ Insurrection Mix]

Atenco es la clásica lucha por los derechos de la tierra indígena; el gobierno mexicano quería construir un aeropuerto y expulsar a la gente que allí vivía, la gente peleó y ganó. No obstante el gobierno volvió a intentarlo esta vez con mas soldados y mas fuerza bruta asesinando, violando y aprisionando a los protestantes que peleaban por su tierra y el derecho de vivir en ella. 12 personas se encuentran recluidas y con sentencias extremadamente duras.Tenemos una mezcla que converge los sentimientos reales de la gente cuando se harta y dice BASTA!

3 Ivere… The Land [Amazon On Fire Mix]

Una pista que expresa preocupación sobre la destrucción del planeta. El video para esta pista captura un episodio de la vida real cuando IR se encontraba viajando en la Amazonia Brasileña donde presencia y filma un incendio deliberado que ardía en la misma. El video se encuentra en ingles con subtítulos traduciendo los comentarios en el lenguage pidgin hablado en las islas Solomon ubicadas en el sur del Pacífico.

4 Terra De Ivere [Vendiendo El Amazonas Mix]

El titulo es la traducción de “Selling the Amazon” y es líricamente un reflejo del sentimiento en esta versión en español de “Ivere…The Land” donde el dinero no puede comprar o cambiar la belleza de la tierra que está siendo destruida por las ganancias y una codicia a corto plazo. Actualmente en el Amazonas estamos viendo las construcciones de mega represas como la de Belo Monte donde no solo hay un total menosprecio por el pueblo indígena que ha sido desplazado sino también por los desastrosos efectos ecológicos a largo plazo por mega proyectos como este en la Amazonia.

5 Esse Terra No Se Es Vende: No Tenemos MIedo de Gases Lacrimogenos

El titulo de la mezcla traduce “This Land Is Not For Sale: Not Afraid Of Any Teargas Mix”.

El gobierno mexicano intentó intimidar a músicos y activistas para que no difundieran los problemas en las requisas de Atenco, en particular algunas de las inexorables sentencias a prisión que fueron impuestas sobre algunos de los protestantes que incluyen sentencias de hasta mas de cien años en prisión.

Sin embargo la intimidación del gobierno no fue contrincante en las protestas y proyectos musicales enfocados en Atenco y la publicación de la verdad contribuyó con la liberación de sus prisioneros políticos.

Dado que IR también se levanta para resistir la injusticia creamos una mezcla para todos aquellos que se levantan por sus derechos y se resisten al Status Quo. Aludido en el título de la mezcla se encuentra el inspirador poema de Xandi Rose.

El gobierno mexicano respondió con una brutal represión e inventó cargos políticos a la resistencia puesta por el pueblo de Atenco.

Canales mexicanos de comunicación masiva como TV Azteca distorsionan y mienten sobre la veracidad de lo ocurrido, alineándose con las versiones gubernamentales de los eventos. En esta mezcla algunas de las mujeres de Atenco cuentan la verdad sobre lo que realmente ocurrió.

Latest EP ‘This Land Is Not For Sale/Ivere’ traveled the bumpy service roads outside the Information Superhighway

IR Indigenous Resistance is a global resistance collective creating music that is crucial to the Indigenous movement.

A release like IR26 THIS LAND IS NOT FOR SALE/IVERE is only possible because in addition to the talented and generous musicians who contribute to the recordings there are folks behind the scenes often in the shadows who contribute so much and so often on short notice for the cause. Sound engineers like Alejandra Toro Salom (Colombia), designers like Dubdem (Brasil), Tapedave (USA), translators like Moondub (Uruguay), Manueladub (Colombia), Olovotu (Solomon Islands) & Jahteecha (Jamaica). IR participants are found in many countries some of which are often described as ‘third “ or “fourth” world many of IR’s working locations are extremely deficient in technology. This creates a network and working environment that requires intense cooperation revolving around the relaying of materials, logistical help in file delivery and the usual pitching in to make sure essential things happen across “the digital divide.” What is as normal as uploading a sound file through WeTransfer in say, Boston, can take hours where IR is traveling. That is, if the internet does not go down during the process.

Some of those that assisted in IR with getting the latest release out were: Sawandi, Otro Dubista, MTDublab, Selecta Trecid, Senor Acai, Sistah Dub, Bobby Dubman & others who must remain in the shadows. The video illustrates the insidious land grab of farmland that is currently happening on a global basis, mostly in developing countries. Whether it is in Mexico or in Ethiopia, large corporations are in cahoots with local governments; who sell them large tracts of lands at below market value for commercial farms. In the process, their own governments are kicking off the original occupants and farmers of the land. Many are indigenous peoples, whose rights to their land go back before there were governments, corporations, or the thought that the land could be for sale. It is so obvious, these monolithic corporations and governments consider the indigenous “unimportant” and therefore disposable.

This track and the accompanying video celebrate the resistance that hard fought against these wrong-headed and unjust actions. The video itself was created within a process accompanied by different folks across the globe who gave crucial insights for the creator, Earth Ritual; these included Alberto Caballo, Tape Dave, Sistah Dub, Chefe Camomilla and The Ghost.

2 This Land Is Not For Sale [The Atenco Peoples’ Insurrection Mix]

Atenco is a classic indigenous lands rights struggle; the Mexican government wanted to build an airport and eject the people who live there, the people fought back and won. Although the government tried again, this time with more soldiers and more brute force, killing, raping and imprisoning the protestors for fighting for their own land, and the right occupy it. 12 people are imprisoned and give extremely harsh prison sentences. We have here a mix that conveys the real sentiments when the people are fed up and say Basta (Enough!).

3 Ivere… The Land [Amazon On Fire Mix]

A track that expressed concern about the destruction of the planet. The video for this track captures a real life episode when IR was traveling in the Brasillian Amazon and actually witnessed and filmed a deliberately set fire that was burning ….like the trak the video is in English with sub titles translating the commentary in the local pidgin language spoken in Solomon islands in the South Pacific. 4 Terra De Ivere [Vendiendo El Amazonas Mix]

The title of this mix translates to “Selling The Amazon” and it’s a reflection of the lyrical sentiment of this Spanish version of “Ivere..The Land ” that money can’t buy or replace the beauty of the earth that is being destroyed for profit and short term greed. Presently in the Amazon we are seeing the construction of mega-dams like the one at Belo Monte where not only is there a total disregard for the indigenous people who are displaced but also for the disastrous long term ecological effects of mega-projects like this in the Amazon .

The mix title translates to This Land Is Not For Sale: Not Afraid Of Any Teargas Mix . The Mexican government tried to intimidate musicians and activists against publicizing the issues of the Atenco uprising, in particular some of the draconian prison sentences that were imposed on some of the protestors; some sentences given out were over a hundred years in prison. The government intimidation were no match for the protests and musical projects focusing on Atenco, however, and the truth put forth contributed to the freeing the Atenco political prisoners.

As IR also stands for Rezist Injustice we created a mix honoring all those who stand up for their rights and resist the status quo. Alluded to in the mix title is the inspiring poem by Xandi Rose.

Dutty Bookman’s auto biography “Tried & True : Revelations Of A Rebellious Youth ” is for folks in IR an inspirational and dub radikal book..It weaves the spiritual, the political, the historical and the personal in a magical .militant way …reading it at times reminded us of conversations we have had with indigenous elders in different parts of the world…we also deeplly appreciate its radical intent and the immediate practical guidance it offers on those who wish to make a positive and radical contribution to trying to make this world a better place….Folks in IR have been so inspired by this book by Jamaican writer Dutty Bookman that in the future we will be putting excerpts from the book into IR dub traks…in the meantime we encourage people to go out and buy a copy of this book and support an autonomous ,totally independent effort…..buy your copy here

Dubmaster Delroy ‘Fatta’ Pottinger doing a live mix in Jamaica of a new IR  trak  a work in progress  featuring Jah9 aka Janine Cunningham , Sawandi , Dr Das   among others.This mix is a dub reworking by   jamaican musician Sawandi of the Dr Das trak “Shadow Wars”. Janine Cunningham aka Jah9 wrote this wikkid line in the studio session for this trak which feat indigenous poets from Hawaii : “you want to turn your heads away ,cover your eyes to the role you play , the shit you see fit for us to inherit, will be the price you have to pay”pure dub resistance!

DEEDER ZAMAN’S NEW MUSIC INSPIRES A COLLECTIVE LABOMB,IR,THE GHOST , DUBDEM,AKAIDER STREET ART ACTION

A while back I.R received some tracks from Deeder Zaman’s upcoming album “ Pride Of The Underdog” which included the tracks “Us & Us” and  ’Bruk Up’.Deeder’s intention was to also create a video for some of these tracks  that would be  linked to the effort to make people aware of the murder of the Patoxo activist Galdino in Brasil .Deeder had been involved in concerts and community events that IR & Dubdem had organised to make people aware of the case of Galdino .These were also ACTIONS like the giant banner of Galdino that Labomb and IR had put up in Rio De Janeiro which were designed to break the silience on Galdino and to shatter the mythology being put forward by the sistem  that everything is okay with indigenous rights in Brasil. So when when Deeder asked us if we could film some footage for him ;we decided to create a street art action and film the process of making it .The name of the ACTION would be BRUK UP BABILON’S ILLUSIONS…which when translated into brasilian portugese is QUEBRAR ILUSOES DA BABILONIA.Literally it means “breaking up the illusions being pushed at us by babylon sistem.” So we created a giant banner that was composed of images from our Ital Roots Dubessentials series .These are IR/ Dubdem visual remixes of books, art , music that some of us in IR felt were essential tools for radikal struggles .There is absolutely no commerce involved in why we decide to promote these works ; in fact the people who issued  these works at this moment dont even know we are doing this . However we simply respect these works and their potential for disrupting babilon sistem!

The Ghost and Dubdem created this banner that represented 3 radikal works .

First “ When The Veneer Of Democracy Starts To Fade” by Mark Stewart .This was a classic album released on the On U Sound label mixed by the legendary Adrian Sherwood .Audio wise its a searing mix of noiz , dub, funk soundsystem & punk vibes filtered through Adrian Sherwood’s ahead of his time razor sharp mixing skills. The lyrics of Mark Stewart on this release like his words for his previous outfit ‘The Pop Group ‘are simply outstanding ..among other things searing condemnations of so called ” democracies ” exposing their authoritarian exceses ….Theres a reason that Mark Stewart has inspired many like folks in IR & Asian Dub Foundation and this album is testament to why that is . Recently we read that back in the days,musician D.WattsRiot used to walk around listening to a cassette that had rappers Public Enemy on one side and Mark Stewart on the other side .Its hard to think of a more lethal sonic and lyrical combination than that!

Second is “ Parable Of The Sower” by Octavia E Butler. Like the writer and poet Audre Loudre ; Octavia E Butler simply astounds us with her visionary viewpoints .An imagining of the future with an alternative vision is in our opinion essential for radikal movements . Using science fiction she dissects the working of the money world , race and gender roles . In particular we really love her subversion of gender roles . Its interesting to us what ordinary folks say about her work Lawrence L Johnson wrote “Forget about Star Trek, thats kiddie stuff compared to Octavia E Butler “ or Nnedi Okarafor who wrote on Feb 25, 2011 “ Today is the 5^th anniversary of the Great Octavia

E Butlers’ death. Go out and read her books , they will change your world !” We really second these opinions ! Underground Resistance is a fan of her work as we are . Simply put she is a fierce writer and dub radikal ; a direct challenge to babylon sistem!!!!!!!!

The third visual remix on the banner is that of the book “African Anarchism;The History Of A Movement” by Sam Mbah and E. Igariwey .Recently IR made a video in Afrika for the track “Brothers and Sisters” When making a video in Afrika one is confronted by some of the very sterotypical images and narrow concepts people worldwide have about Afrika ….military wars , despotic dictatorships , widespread famine, beggas everywhere etc etc..

Sometimes its necessary to search out and find some alternative realities and points of view. “African Anarchism;The History Of A Movement” looks at the history of those activists in Afrika whose focus has been on collective anti authoritarian social activities as opposed to the dynamics that has created power obsessed despots like prime minister Mugabe in Zimbabwe. It is a side of Afrikan history and a critique of authoritarian politics by Afrikans that doesnt receive much attention.Brasil has the largest populations of people of Afrikan descent outside the continent of Afrika itself . Often in Brasil we have encountered black people searching out histories and perspectives on Afrika therefore we thought it was espcially relevant to represent this book in the banner we put up in Sao Paulo, Brasil.

Recently IR/Labomb/ The Ghost /Dubdem& Akaider carried out a successful ACTION

placing the giant banner we had created in a public space , doing grafitti and filming the process .

Our intent is to really inspire people to use public spaces which are OUR spaces to express and offer their own point of views which differs from what babilon sistem is trying force feed us .

For this reason we are showing video and photos of how we did this . Various women and men were part of this ACTION… but in these photos you will only partially see one of the people involved ..

this individual is someone particularly gifted  in scaling  the walls of babylon…..the other people who were there and others who gave support who in IR style will remain in the shadows …The vibe was great during the ACTION and for us in IR what really made it very special was that each person contributed something dub and unique to the process .It was the combination of all these unique contributions that made everything flow so wonderfully .Collective dub.Organised over 3 continents where immense communication and technological limitations /difficulties were overcome : this ACTION is proof of what can be done when those involved share the same motive & commitment and trust one another .You can visit the site where this banner and grafitti was done by going to Rua Belmiro Braga. NOVA MÚSICA DE DEEDER ZAMAN INSPIRA OS COLETIVOS LABOMB, I.R, THE GHOST, DUBDEM E AKAIDER A FAZEREM UMA AÇÃO NA RUA

Há algum tempo atrás a I.R recebeu uns tracks do novo albúm de Deeder Zaman “Pride Of The Underdog”, que inclui músicas como “Us & Us” e “Bruk Up”. A intenção também era fazer um vídeo com algumas dessas, músicas que serviriam como um link no esforço em informar as pessoas sobre o assassinato no Brasil de Galdino, um ativista Pataxo.

Deeder Zaman está envolvido em concertos e eventos comunitários que a IR & Dubdem têm organizado para fazer com que as pessoas saibam do caso do Galdino.

Estas AÇÕES, como a do enorme banner do Galdino que o Labomb e a IR colocaram no Rio de Janeiro, são designadas, também, para QUEBRAR O SILÊNCIO SOBRE GALDINO e a mitologia colocada pelo Estado brasileiro de que esta tudo bem com relação AOS DIREITOS DOS INDÍGENAS no Brasil.

Então, quando Deeder nos pediu para filmar um material para ele, decidimos criar uma ação na rua e filmar esse processo. O nome da ação foi “BRUK UP BABILON’S ILLUSIONS” que em português significa “QUEBRAR AS ILUSÕES DA BABILONIA”. Literalmente significa que se devem quebrar as ilusões impostas pelas cidades e pelos governos.

Criamos um banner gigante composto por imagens da Ital Roots Dubssentials series. São variações de algumas imagens de livros, artes e musicas da IR & Dubdem, que alguns de nós da IR sentimos serem ferramentas essenciais para lutas radicais.

Não há absolutamente nenhum comércio envolvendo o porquê nós decidimos em promover este trabalho; na realidade as pessoas que escreveram aquelas palavras não sabem o que estamos fazendo.

Nós simplesmente respeitamos esse trabalho e o potencial dele para QUEBRAR AS ILUSÕES DA BABILONIA!!!

O primeiro “When The Veneer Of Democracy Starts To Fade (QUANDO A CASCA DA DEMOCRACIA COMECAR RACHAR) por Mark Stewart é um álbum clássico lançado pelo selo “On U Sound” e mixado pela lenda Adrian Sherwood”.

O áudio é um mix de noise, dub, funk soundsystem e punk; vibes filtradas por Adrian Sherwood, que esta à frente de seu tempo com afiadas habilidades na mixagem.

A letra de Mark Stwart deste lançamento assim como a do lançado “The Pop Group” é simplesmente incrível. Entre outras coisas, é crítica pesada ao que chamamos de democracia que é na verdade um autoritarismo cheio de abusos.

Há uma razão porque Mark Stewart inspirou muitos da IR e do Asian Dub Foundation e este álbum é a prova do por que.

Recentemente nós lemos que há alguns anos atrás, músicos como D. Watts Riot andavam por aí ouvindo uma fita cassete que tinha o rapper Public Enemy de um lado e Mark Stewart do outro.É dificil pensar em uma letra e som mais perigoso do que este.

O segundo trabalho é “Parable Of The Sower” de Octavia E. Butler.

Como o escritor e poeta Audre Loudre, Octavia E. Butler simplesmente nos fascina com seus pontos de vista visionários. Uma imaginação do futuro com uma visão alternativa é em nossa opinião essencial para movimentos mais radicais.

Usando da ficção científica ela disseca o trabalho do mundo do dinheiro, das etnias e dos gêneros. Particularmente nós realmente amamos sua subversão com relação ao que seriam os papeis dos gêneros. É interessante para nós o que pessoas comuns falam sobre seu trabalho. Lawrence L. Johnson escreveu “Esqueçam Star Trek, isso é coisa de criança comparado com Octavia E. Butler”. Ou Nnedi Okarafor que escreveu em 25 de fevereiro de 2011: “Hoje é o 5 aniversário da morte da grande Octavia E. Butlers. Saia e leia seu livro, eles vão mudar o seu mundo”.

Realmente respeitamos essas opiniões. O Underground Resistance é fã do trabalho dela assim como nós.

Simplesmente a coloca como feroz e radical dub. Um desafio direto para o sistema da babilônia.

A terceira imagem do banner é do livro “African Anarchism, The History Of A Movement” de Sam Mbah e E. Igariew.

Recentemente a IR fez um vídeo na África da música “Brothers and Sisters” e o processo de filmagem afronta o estereótipo e os conceitos rasos que pessoas de todo o mundo têm sobre a África… Guerras militares, ditadores despóticos, fome por toda parte, etc.

Algumas vezes é necessário pesquisar e encontrar realidades alternativas e pontos de vista diferentes. “Afriacan Anarchism;The History Of A Movement” mostra a história da ativistas na África que se focaram coletivamente em ações antiautoritárias e atividades sociais em oposição a dinâmica que criou os poderes obsessivos e despóticos, como o do primeiro ministro Mugabe no Zimbabwe. É um lado da história africana e uma crítica às politicas autoritárias na África que não recebem muita atenção.

O Brasil tem a maior população de descendentes africanos fora do continente e constantemente encontramos pessoas buscando histórias e perspectivas da África, por isso nós pensamos que seria especialmente relevante representar esse livro no banner que colocamos em São Paulo.

Recentemente a IR, Labomb, The Ghost, Dubdem e Akaider mandaram bem em uma ação colocando um banner gigante que criamos em um lugar público, fazendo também um grafite e filmando o processo.

Nossa intenção é realmente inspirar pessoas para que USEM OS ESPAÇOS PÚBLICOS, que são afinal nossos espaços para expressar e oferecer pontos de vista diferentes dos que o sistema que nos impor.

Por essa razão mostramos o vídeos e as fotos de como fizemos. Varias mulheres e homens participaram dessa ação, mas nessas fotos só verão uma parte das pessoas envolvidas.

Esse indivíduo é alguém particularmente talentoso na arte de escalar as paredes da babilônia! As outras pessoas que deram suporte no estilo IR ficaram ocultas…

A vibe foi ótima durante a AÇÃO e para nós da IR, realmente importante foi que cada pessoa contribuiu com dub e de forma única para o processo. Foi a combinação dessas únicas contribuições que fizeram tudo fluir de forma maravilhosa. Dub coletivo organizado por 3 continentes sendo que havia uma limitação de comunicação e de tecnologia, superadas pela AÇÃO.

Um prova do que pode ser feito quando os envolvidos compartilham do mesmo motivo, comprometimento e confiança um nos outros.

Memória do pataxó Galdino chega à África

Deeder Zaman, IR e Dubdem Soundsystem lançam novo vídeo “Remembering Galdino”, gravado na Etiópia

Agosto, 2011 – Deeder Zaman, ex-vocalista do Asian Dub Foundation, responsável por hits como “Free Saptal Ram”, uniu-se novamente ao movimento ativista multicultural Indigenous Resistance (IR), que aborda temas da resistência e da realidade indígenas pelo mundo, e ao Dubdem Sound System, de São Paulo, e juntos lançaram o vídeo “Remembering Galdino”, que traz a faixa de reggae roots “Brothers and Sisters”. Gravado na Etiópia, o vídeo mostra uma garota etíope que toma conhecimento pela internet da história do índio Pataxó Galdino Jesus dos Santos, assassinado em Brasília, em 21 de abril de 1997.

Líder do povo Pataxó Hã-Hã-Hãe, Galdino, que participaria de manifestações no Planalto pela recuperação da terra indígena Caramuru-Paraguaçu, dormia em um ponto de ônibus da cidade quando foi queimado vivo por cinco adolescentes, filhos de pessoas influentes em Brasília. Teve 90% de seu corpo queimado. Um dos episódios mais cruéis da história dos povos indígenas brasileiros, a morte de Galdino tornou-se um símbolo da luta do Indigenous Resistance pelas causas indígenas e pela justiça no Brasil e em outros países.

Fazer a memória de Galdino chegar à Etiópia é extremamente significante para o movimento, já que o país sedia as mais importantes organizações políticas africanas, como o AU (African Union), antigo OAU (Organization of African Unity), com sede em Adis Abeba, que luta pela promoção da democracia e dos direitos humanos, além de realizar esforços para o desenvolvimento econômico do continente africano, principalmente incentivando investimentos estrangeiros.

No vídeo, a garota etíope, chocada com a história do assassinato do líder pataxó, decide tomar parte do movimento para tornar viva a memória de Galdino em seu país e na África, seguindo o que já acontece em outros países como Brasil, Jamaica, Colômbia, Inglaterra, Uruguai, e vai distribuindo pôsteres, camisetas e cartazes, ganhando novos adeptos.

“Remembering Galdino” traz ainda imagens de diversos shows que aconteceram em memória do líder pataxó, como o da Cohab 5 Malvina, em Carapicuíba, São Paulo, no ano passado, que contou com performances ao vivo de Deeder Zaman e Dubdem Soundsystem, além de workshops de grafite e impressão de camisetas em silk screen com o artistas Labomb.

O sound system é um fenômeno cultural que começou na Jamaica nos anos 50 e chegou ao auge na década de 80, perpetuando-se até hoje por todos os cantos da ilha. Em 2003, foi lançado o selo I.R. pelo The Fire This Time, que aborda os temas da resistência e da realidade indígenas. Deeder Zaman
Deeder é mais conhecido como vocalista e membro fundador do Asian Dub Foundation, considerada uma das melhoras bandas inglesas na última década. Começou a carreira em Londres, com apenas 11 anos, quando fez sua primeira gravação. Mas foi com 13 anos, em 1993, que Deeder fundou o ADF, junto com o DJ Pandit G, o aclamado baixista Dr. Das, o guitarrista Chandrasonic e Sun-J.

O primeiro disco, “Facts And Fictions” (Nation Records) foi lançado em 1995, com uma mistura dos ritmos ragga, jungle, baixo tradicional bengali, cítara no lugar da guitarra e uma inspiração no trabalho de artistas como Chuck D (Public Enemy) e KRS1.

Em 1998, foi lançado o álbum “Rafi´s Revenge” (London Records) muito elogiado pela crítica. Este álbum também foi indicado para o Mercury Prize e o BBC Asian Award for Music. Neste ano, o ADF foi considerado um dos grupos mais promissores da cena britânica, além de conquistar um público cada vez maior. Em sete anos envolvido com o Asian Dub Foundation, Deeder gravou cinco discos, muitos deles com hits nas paradas inglesas e americanas. Também viajou por todo o mundo, participando de festivais no Japão, Cingapura, toda a Europa, Canadá e Estados Unidos.

Com apoio de nomes como Beast Boys e Primal Screen, o ADF se destacou cada vez mais no cenário da música alternativa mundial, alcançando o respeito de grande banda, após tantos anos dedicados à música. No final de 2000, Deeder decidiu deixar o ADF, depois de sete anos trabalhando pelo desenvolvimento da banda e seu reconhecimento internacional.

Em 2002, formou o Rebel Uprising, trabalhando com renomados músicos da cena inglesa como: Trevor Boucaud (aka Passion), Dennis Rootical (baixista do sound system inglês Iration Steppas. Em 2008, Deeder lançou seu primeiro álbum solo “Minority Large” no Japão (Beatnik Rec.). As participações no álbum incluem: Brendan Lynch, da Lynch Mob Productions (produtor do Primal Scream), Tony Penultimate (Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain), The Crispy Horns Section (Zion Train), Ghetto Priest (vocalista do crew On U Sound), Clotaire K (rapper francês) entre outros.

One of the most dubversive folks IR had the pleasure to come across in Jamaica was a writer Dutty Bookman . We were impressed with empathy with indigenous rights and indigenous philosophy and his ability to relate it to the Jamaican context . He feels it “ most resembles a combination of The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and Jon Lee Anderson’s Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life “
We liked what he wrote about the motivation for him writing the book
“During the entire process of writing Tried & True: Revelations of a Rebellious Youth, I kept asking myself WHY I dared to think that my life experiences would even matter to other people. Memoirs of interest are usually written by people with some sort of celebrity status. I am far from a celebrity, yet that is exactly why I thought I should release this book to the public. My intention is for people in my age group (and younger) to read my story and realize that they can be quite ordinary while accomplishing extraordinary things. I believe that I am an example of a good soul with good intentions and, because of that, I have received great blessings. By printing my story, the impact on the reader has transformative potential.”
